ABOUT US

The backstory of Proclamation Gin is actually quite simple. The co-founders love gin-and one day, they decided to create their own.

As they were born and raised in the Philippines, they wanted to create something completely Filipino-something they could showcase to the world, bringing a part of their heritage and culture along the way.

SAMPAGUITA: THE PHILIPPINES’ NATIONAL FLOWER

They chose Sampaguita because it is the Philippines’ national flower, symbolic of day to day life in the Philippines.

In 1934, General Frank Murphy declared Sampaguita as the Philippines’ national flower in Proclamation No. 652. This was where the gin’s name was taken.

The fragrant flower embodies humility, purity and strength, and these are also symbolic of the distillation process of this gin.

Women Farmers

They worked with women farmers in Central Luzon, who handpicked these flowers—selecting only the best buds—for this gin.

SUMPA KITA

Sampaguita means “sumpa kita” in Filipino which translates to “I promise you.” This is Proclamation Gin’s promise to the women farmers—to continue giving them a source of livelihood.

And this gin is their promise to you.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Toasted grains reminiscent of summer fields in the central part of the Philippines with the warm, relaxing climate, make a distinct mark. A hint of nutty, salty and deep earth aromas come through.

Taste: A smoky, fermented flavor initially hits the tongue and evolves into a slightly honeyed overall, leaving a satisfying warm finish. It surprises with very little hints of its floral infused distillation, and impresses with a unique and fresh character that is smooth and, not surprisingly, very organic.

Finish: Natural, smooth, and tidy with a lingering surprise
